Winners of the Te Putanga Toi Arts Access Holdsworth Creative Spaces Award 2020
Arts for Health is pleased to announce that we have won the prestigious Te Putanga Toi Arts Access Holdsworth Creative Space Award 2020.
We were recognised for our commitment to providing an accessible creative space to those with limited access to make art.
In their comments the judging panel said: “Arts For Health is an outstanding grassroots creative space, run largely by committed volunteers, and has had a huge impact over 30 years. The breadth of its reach and artforms is impressive as it touches the lives of people in its communities: students, hospital patients, senior citizens in rest homes – in fact, anyone who wants to use creativity as a means of empowerment and wellbeing.”

Welcome to Arts for Health
We are a creative community space for anybody who wants to use the arts for well-being. As a charitable trust we have been running for 33 years. There is no required level of expertise needed, many of our participants have no previous art experience, while others come to us with a toolbox of knowledge and skills. Everyone is welcome.
If you think that you would like to try any of our activities ring us for an appointment. We can show you through our art studios so that you can get a better idea of what we do.
Many of our artists come to Arts for Health to develop their skills and techniques, while others prefer to use the arts to develop a wider social circle with like minded people.
We encourage all of our artists to participate in exhibitions and competitions when they feel ready. This is a great way to celebrate success and to share accomplishments. If you would like to know more about us please Contact us.
Its been a busy time at Arts for Health, recipients of the Holdsworth Creative Spaces Award, our 'Unexpected' arts exhibition at Arts Post and two fun filled workshops this Term with our tutor Rhi Jackson.
