$7.50 per session - stay as long as you like

Open Studio

Open Studio in Hamilton is a welcoming creative space where adults of all ages and experience levels can work on their own art projects alongside others. It's not a class or a workshop—it's dedicated time and space to create at your own pace in a friendly, supportive studio.

Bring your own project or use the basic art materials available in the studio. An art tutor is available for guidance when needed, while the focus remains on independent creative practice.

Pathway

Many participants begin in Open Studio before progressing to our Journey Through Art, Art Inspired by Nature, or Watercolour classes.

Who's it for?

Anyone who enjoys being creative and values a welcoming, shared studio environment. Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or returning to a long-time hobby, you'll find a place to create.

What do we offer?

A welcoming studio, basic art materials including paper, pencils, pens and paint, and the freedom to work on your own creative projects. Bring your own canvas or purchase one from us if needed.

How do I join?

Simply drop in during opening hours—no referral or booking is needed. On your first visit, we'll ask you to complete a short registration form and introduce you to the studio.

Can I visit before joining?

Absolutely. You're welcome to drop in for a look around, or contact us to arrange a visit if you prefer.

How long can I stay?

As long as you like. Some people stay for 30 minutes, while others enjoy a full morning, afternoon, or the entire day. Choose what suits you.

Can my group come along?

Yes. Please get in touch to discuss your group and how we can best support your visit.

Who will help me?

An art tutor is available if you need ideas or encouragement while you work. If you're looking for structured art instruction, our term art classes may be a better fit.

What should I bring?

Bring your creative ideas and any specialist materials you prefer to use. If you're staying for several hours, you may also wish to bring a water bottle and lunch.

We are wheelchair accessible, offer free onsite parking, and support workers are always welcome. Whether you come for an hour or spend the whole day with us, Open Studio is a welcoming place to create, connect, and enjoy being part of a creative community.
