Altered Book Classes Series

The Altered Book Class Series is a creative mixed media class in Hamilton for adults of all abilities. You will create a personal, hand-crafted book using a range of mixed media techniques, guided by an experienced tutor in a supportive studio environment. This class is suitable for beginners and those wanting to explore creative book-making and mixed media art.

Liz is an experienced artist with a passion for altered books as both a form of personal reflection and creative practice, bringing warmth, encouragement, and practical expertise to every session.

Pathway

After this mixed media class, you can continue developing your creative practice in the next Handmade Book series or move into the Altered Book series. 

What You’ll Learn / Take Away:

• Create your own handmade book

• Explore a range of mixed media techniques

• Learn collage, layering, and image-making

• Develop storytelling through visual art

• Work with a variety of materials and tools

• Build confidence in creative expression

• Produce a finished, personal artwork
  

What to Bring: An old hardcover book on your first session so that you can get started right away. You will also need a selection of mixed papers (you won’t need them for the first class - Liz will guide you on what to collect).
