Celebrating Adult Education in Aotearoa Through Art

On 10 September, Arts for Health celebrated Adult Learners’ Week with a day of art, conversation and learning.

The day began with the opening of Brave Marks at the Corridor Gallery, a group exhibition bringing together artworks by adults and celebrating creativity and continued learning through art.

This was followed by an art critique led by award-winning Hamilton artist Chris Greenslade. Artists were invited to bring along finished or unfinished work, share the ideas behind their pieces and receive feedback from Chris. Other participants were also encouraged to join the conversation, share their thoughts and learn from one another.

It was a relaxed opportunity for artists to talk about their work, hear different perspectives and take away ideas to continue developing their art.

A big thank you to ACE Aotearoa for supporting the day and helping make these Adult Learners’ Week activities possible.
