Beginners Watercolour Art Class is a community art class in Hamilton for adults of all abilities. You will learn the fundamentals of watercolour painting step by step, build practical skills, and receive guidance from an experienced tutor in a supportive studio environment. This class is suitable for beginners, returning artists and those returning to painting.
Meet Your Tutor – Jennifer
Jennifer holds an MA in Painting, brings experience and clear, step-by-step guidance. She adapts each class to students’ needs, helping everyone build confidence and enjoy painting.
Pathway
After this Beginners Watercolour Art Class, you can continue learning in our Open Studio or return for more advanced watercolour or other painting classes.

Learn basic watercolour techniques step by step

You will need these materials on your first day.
12 x Water colour paint tubes including primary colours
3 x Round brushes. (Size 8 & 12 and a fine detail paint brush)
1 x Flat blush. (Size 24 or smaller)
Palette (Can be found at the Gordon Harris)
1 x Waterproof fine line pen.
1 x Drawing pencils. (H)
1 x Eraser.
1 x Water colour paper pads. (More than 200 gsm thickness)
1 x Masking tape. ($2 dollar shop)
Most of these materials can be found at the $2 Shop or KMart. We recommend purchasing paint and brushes from The Warehouse Stationary or Gordon Harris.
