After School Art Club – Ages 5 to 8
Fun and creative art classes for kids in Hamilton informed by art therapy principles
Our After School Art Club gives children aged 5–8 the chance to explore colours, shapes, textures and different art materials in a friendly, supportive environment.
Each week, children enjoy guided art activities and time to create their own artwork. They can paint, draw, experiment with materials and use their imagination to make something of their own.
The focus is on having fun, trying new things and developing confidence through creative play and art-making.
Who is this class for?
Suitable for:
Children aged 5–8
Beginners and children who already enjoy art
Children who love painting, drawing and making things
Children who enjoy exploring colours and different materials
Children who would benefit from a small, supportive group
No previous art experience is needed.
What to expect
Each session offers opportunities to:
Explore painting, drawing and mixed media
Experiment with colours, shapes and textures
Try simple guided art activities
Use imagination and develop creative ideas
Build confidence through trying new things
Express thoughts and feelings through art
Enjoy creating alongside other children
A supportive approach to art-making
Our classes are informed by arts therapy principles, encouraging children to explore, express themselves and develop confidence through creativity.
Children are supported to make their own choices, try different approaches and enjoy the experience of creating without pressure to make something perfect.
These are creative art classes rather than formal art therapy sessions. Children do not need any particular support needs to attend.
Meet your tutor – Eve
Eve is a qualified arts therapist with a background in creative arts. She provides a supportive environment where children can explore their creativity, develop confidence and enjoy making art at their own pace.
