Need a gentle midweek pause? Looking for a creative way to support your wellbeing?
Join our Wednesday morning art therapy group at Arts for Health in Hamilton — a calm, welcoming space to explore creativity, mindfulness, and self-care. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, a bit stuck, or just want some time for yourself, this is a beautiful place to start.
About the course
Dates: Wednesdays, 16 July – 3 September (8 weeks)
Time: 9:30am – 11:30am
Location: Arts for Health Studio, Norris Ward Park, Hamilton Central
Cost: $185 (includes all materials and equipment)
Facilitator: Scarlett Jeong – Arts Therapist
What to expect
Over 8 weeks, you’ll gently explore art-making through activities like:
Painting and pastels
Sculpture and clay
Drawing and collage
Simple mindfulness practices
Each session is guided by Scarlett Jeong, a qualified arts therapist who creates a calm, respectful and inclusive space. You don’t need to be good at art — the focus is on process, not product. It’s about slowing down, tuning in, and expressing whatever needs to come out.
Whether you’re managing stress, navigating a life change, or just needing a creative lift, art therapy offers a supportive way to care for yourself.
Who is it for?
This group is designed for adults of all ages who want to:
Support their mental wellbeing through creativity
Reduce stress and anxiety
Feel more connected to themselves and others
Try art in a safe and judgment-free environment
Absolutely no experience with art is needed — just come as you are. We’ll provide all the materials.
Spaces are limited to just 8 participants, so everyone gets plenty of time and support.
Why join?
People who’ve taken our art therapy classes say they feel:
“More relaxed and clear-headed after each session.”
“Safe to express things I didn’t have words for.”
“Part of a warm and understanding group.”
This class isn’t therapy in the traditional talk-based sense — but it is deeply therapeutic. You might surprise yourself with what comes through when your hands are moving and your mind is still.
