Altered Book Workshop – 6 Weeks of Creative Exploration in Hamilton
Looking for a creative outlet this spring? Join our 6-week Altered Book Workshop at Arts for Health Hamilton and discover how to transform an old book into a unique piece of art that you can fill with your writing, small keepsakes and treasures. With the guidance of tutor Liz, an experienced passionate about about altered books, you’ll learn how to prepare your book as well as create storage areas and embellishments you can insert into your book. Liz will guide you in techniques use to obtain pages with texture and colour and bursting with a bit of YOU.
No art experience is needed - just curiosity, time, and a willingness to experiment.
What You’ll Learn
How to prepare your book
How to create pockets, tuckspots, removable tags/cards.
Collage and mixed media page decoration techniques using gesso, mod podge and other adhesives, acrylic paints and stamps.
Ways to incorporate your treasures into the book.
