Arts for Health has two bespoke art studios which are available for hire. They are the Braemar Charitable Trust studio, which is our premium art studio space, and our smaller studio, Studio 1.
The Braemar Charitable Trust Studio:
In conjunction with The Braemar Charitable Trust we are proud to offer a working studio space and kitchenette that caters for up to 20 people. The studio offers good lighting, easy access and free parking right outside the door.
Studio 1 holds up to 10 people comfortably and has a fully equipped art studio and kitchenette.
It also provides a venue for the delivery of clinical and therapeutic services.
We are able to tailor specialised workshops for groups and organisations based around creative arts and arts therapy.
We have several experienced art tutors who are available to provide tutoring.
Casual Arts Tutor position
We are currently looking for a casual arts tutor to cover when staff are away. If you are experienced in facilitating the visual arts, working with people who are unwell and available at short notice to cover shifts on an irregular basis (9.30 am - 2.30 pm) we would like to talk to you. Please contact us for more details.
Weekend Art Tutors
We are hoping to extend our services by providing short one or two day art classes in the weekends. If you have an art interest that you think would make a great workshop we would like to support you to make it happen. Contact us for more information.
Board of Trustees
Our organisation operates as a charitable trust with a Board of Trustees. Trustee members have a passion for working towards an inclusive accessible service that serves the wider community. We are always looking for like minded people who have an interest in the creative arts and the time to make a difference. As a small organisation our Trustees play an important part in our operations, so a hands-on attitude is a must. One of our major challenges is securing ongoing funding. If you have great people skills, lots of drive and an interest of making Hamilton a better place, we would like to invite you to consider becoming one of our trustees.
If you have a few hours to spare each week or each month and would like to make a difference to the lives of people who are disadvantaged and vulnerable, consider joining us as a volunteer. We have more work than we can do by ourselves so we are always grateful for any assistance. You could be our next Facebook scheduler, database whiz, pamphlet deliverer, an extra pair of hands at our fundraising events, or a handy person. If you are looking to support our artists with their own art work, either at our Ward park base, Waikato Hospital or any of our mobile sites we would like to tell you a bit more about these roles too.
